We’re Here

2018-02-14 Valentines Day

We arrived here in Las Hamacas just after sunset. We “heard” that it was a beautiful sunset, but we were told not to worry that there would be others.

After dropping off our bags we headed off to the beach with our old friends Connie and Tim. You can’t believe just how beautiful it was. After turning off our flashlights the stars lit up the sky, and the crashing waves seemed to glow in the dark. We later found out that that was because there was phosphorescence in the water. Tiny organisms that glow in the dark. You could see them with each incoming rush of surf, as glowing specs of fireflies that danced around our wet feet. Wow, what a greeting!

Here is a teaser Google photo of where are place is located.

And her is Kim enjoying her early morning coffee. More to come later

At the San Antonio airport

I know somebody who is going to miss us.

Just a side note. The worst thing about traveling, is “traveling.” No matter how many books, and toys we bring there is just a whole lot of waiting, and this is a simple trip. Two hours to Mexico City, 1 hour plane ride to Huatulco, and then a 1 hour bus ride to the beach. Simple huh? What about the getting up st 4:30am, the 2 hour wait at the airport, the 3 hour layover in Mexico City, etc etc.? In the end we will have read a good part of a book, scoured the magazines and stared out the window at the clouds, but finally we will magically be at the beach for sunset with sand between our toes.

Sorry, I guess that it is not too bad after all!

Getting ready for The beach in Mexico

In just 2 short days we will be on our way to the start of our Mexico vacation. Getting ready has been fairly stress free. So stress free in fact that I worry about just what we are forgetting. Hopefully, it is nothing too important. I’ll let you know once we ft there.

That’s me in my much you younger and more nimble days. I might not be able to still dive for lobster, but maybe I can just find a really pretty small shell on the beach?
